So I’ve been wondering…

Wed Nov 1, 2006, 6:42 PM
I have been home schooled for most of my education, save kindergarten, and now college. Now that I’m in college, I’m finding it a rather easy adjustment. It’s nothing that I’m not used to. When I was being home schooled, no one taught me. I just studied a lot. I taught myself pretty much everything I know up until now. When I needed help, I asked for it and went to the appropriate source to gain the information I lacked, or most of the time just didn’t understand. I had to learn the responsibility of taking my education into my own hands. No one was forcing me to do anything. I had to do it all of my own free will. Now that I’m in college, it’s much the same. I study a lot, I get help when I need it, and no one is forcing me to do anything. I do everything of my own free will, I’m doing well in all my classes, and I still have a kick ass social life. Cool right? So now here comes the part where I tell you what I’ve been thinking about. Most of the people that I know here are not people with the same sort of background as me. They are all people who went through the public school systems, being passed along from one grade to the next. Now they’re here with no study skills, and very little motivation to even care about weather or not they might possibly need study skills to pass. They just figure that it’s something that they are supposed to be doing. So now you got a load of kids who are failing their classes and don’t care. They don’t want to go to school, but they’re in school because they don’t want to work. All the kids who are doing well in school, and have motivation to do something with their lives, are the social rejects of high school. They have no social skills, but they are at least going to do something with their lives. What the hell is wrong with the public school systems that they teach that those who have what it takes to get the job done are to be socially rejected? Not to mention, if our schools aren’t preparing kids for college, or preparing them for life outside school, what the hell are they doing? And mostly, why are people so negative towards home schooled kids? Everything that has been socially acceptable, or sought after, is now completely backwards. So what have I been learning here at a higher level of education (other than what botanists think is funny)? Society is one giant mess of nasty… and no one wants to clean it up.

Haha Awesome! Yea i've been driving for.. Uh, a little more than 2 years. I blame the fact that no one around here can drive. Although i've had it many time where i've come back to my parked car and had a huge dent in it.But then again i guess that would fall into the catagory of no one around here can drive.

Hi back :)
